Hi.
You doing okay? Are you, like me, asking if the world will always be this heavy? Then pausing to look up to all the gorgeous yellow leaves falling to the ground, and wondering, “Has it always been this bad, or is this just the new, most updated version?” I don’t know. But we’re not even into the serious part of the election cycle (which is my local news), so God help us all.
In light of all the dark — and I promise you I can sit in my Feelings Chair* all day long, so I’m not trying to avoid, I’m just trying to help — I’m making this newsletter short on story and heaaaaaavaay on the memes.
We rapped up birthday season with multiple fall sports commencing in earnest and a Homecoming thrown in the middle of it, so October felt a bit like May in the sense of non-stop-ness.
I made this One-Pan Farro with Tomatoes dish, this Very Veggie Bake (leeks for the win forever!) and a Lazy Sonya* version of this Potsticker Soup recipe, meaning I didn’t use mushrooms because I didn’t want my kids to attack me and I did use Costco’s bag of wontons.
Also, went Over-Achiver Sonya* with a layered chocolate cake with ganache and raspberry filling for Chris’ birthday. Channeling my inner Amy Grass.
DO NOT ASK ME MY AGE, but my feet hurt. Bought these ugly knock-off recovery HOKA’s that my kids make fun of and I love. (Here’s the real thing, if you must.)
Part-Time Poets is feeding my writing life, without taking up too much time. (Speaking of, Micro-Essay Workshop starts November 6th! Join me!)
Now,
That’s it for me. See you in your inboxes when I:
a. write something deep and profound and/or b. collect a big enough pile of Thanksgiving/holiday-themed memes I absolutely must send you.
Be well, take gentle care.

Oh my gosh. The ghost folding fitted sheets. Literally laughed out loud and couldn’t stop. Thank you.
